Barbara J. Vogl

Barbara Vogl, 62, of Carroll died Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll following a brief illness. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Schott. Music will be by Marcy Anderson and the St. Lawrence Choir. Lector will be Shirley Molitor. Gift Bearers will be Barbara’s daughters Leah Vogl and Brandy Nagl. Honorary casketbearers will be Barbara’s grandchildren and brother, Randy Molitor as well as Gerd Sorensen. Casketbearers will be Mike Nagl, Jimmy Kennebeck, Rich Vogl, Al Nagl, Dave Kennebeck, and Jim Molitor. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carroll. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:30 p.m. on Friday, where there will be a rosary at 4 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service by St. Lawrence Parish at 6 p.m. The casket will be moved to the church at 9 a.m. Saturday, where visitation will resume until the time of the funeral mass. Born on August 16, 1951 in Sioux City, Barbara Jo was the daughter of John and Ruth (Morrow) Molitor. She graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1969. After high school Barb worked as a C.N.A. in Des Moines for several years. On June 6, 1980 she was united in marriage to LeRoy Vogl in Ft. Dodge. The couple later made their home in the Carroll area. Barb worked at General Electric for over twenty years. After G.E. closed she worked as an aide for New Hope Village. She cherished her family, enjoying every moment she spent with her children and grandchildren. Barb will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and making everyone she met smile, and laugh. She was a member of St. Lawrence Parish in Carroll. Survivors include her children: Christy Beeson of West Des Moines, Brandy Nagl and husband Mike of Farnhamville, and Leah Vogl and fiancée Jimmy Kennebeck of Carroll; five grandchildren: Marissa, Macie, and Max Kennebeck, Caleb and Noah Nagl; one brother, Randy Molitor and friend Dianne Westfall, of Salem, Oregon; her brothers and sisters-in-laws Joe (Lorraine) Vogl of Atlantic, John (Adella) of Adair, Earl (Laurel) Vogl of Carroll, Betty Danner of Dedham, Dorothy (Pete) Danner of Carroll, Mary Ann (Norbert) Kasperbauer of Manilla, and Levan Eich of Carroll; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives. Barb was preceded in death by her parents, her husband LeRoy on March 30, 2009, and a nephew Jonathan Molitor.
