Brandon Bruggeman

Brandon Bruggeman, age 13 of Carroll, died Saturday, April 28, 2012 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Johnson. Music will be by Barb McDermott and the Holy Spirit Choir. Mass Servers will be Gage Gunnerson, Jackson Simons and Spencer Schreck. Lectors for the funeral mass will be: Sue Kanne and Kathy Behrens. Gift Bearers will be Kelsey Bruggeman, Belinda Boell and Laurie Pearson. Eucharistic Minister will be Deb McCarty. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Brandon’s cousins. Casket Bearers will be: Jim Bruggeman, Tom Pearson, Bryan Haberl, Travis Boell, Ken Massey, and Ross Friedman. The Kuemper 7th Grade Football Team will form an honor guard for the funeral mass. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Friends may call at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll after 4 p.m. on Tuesday where there will be a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume at Holy Spirit Church at noon on Wednesday until time of the funeral mass. In lieu of flowers Brandon’s family suggests memorials to the ALS Foundation or the Kuemper Junior High Football Program. Born on July 21, 1998 Brandon Henry Bruggeman was the son of John and Brenda (Haberl) Bruggeman. He attended school in the Kuemper Catholic School System and was currently in the 7th grade at St. Lawrence Center. He played soccer and was a member of the 7th grade football team at Kuemper. Brandon loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting, snowmobiling, and pretty much anything outdoors. He was also an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan and liked playing video games. Brandon was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family or friends and for the past couple years volunteered his time for the annual haunted house at Breda, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He had a great love for his family and many friends and always enjoyed giving hugs. Brandon was a member of Holy Spirit Church in Carroll. Brandon is survived by his parents, John and Brenda Bruggeman of Carroll; his sister, Kelsey Bruggeman, at home; his grandparents, Erwin and Mary Jane Haberl of Maple River; his uncles and aunts: Jim (Cindy) Bruggeman of Templeton, Tom (Karen) Pearson of Omaha, NE, Bryan (Christie) Haberl of Breda, Belinda (Travis) Boell of Carroll, Amber (Ken) Massey of Mt. Carmel, and Kim Haberl of Maple River; 12 cousins: Jamie Miller, Jake Bruggeman, Laurie Pearson, Michelle Scotter, Jessica Haberl, Samantha Haberl, Adam Haberl, Blake Boell, Aden Boell, Taylor Boell, Gavin Boell, and Rylie Massey; as well as many friends. Brandon’s paternal grandparents, Tobe and Bobbeye Bruggeman preceded him in death.
