Darlene Brincks

Darlene Dorthy Brincks, of Carroll, and formerly of Denison, Iowa died on Thursday, July 27, 2017 after fighting a courageous battle against cancer. She was 71 years old. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. The celebrant will be Fr. Kevin Richter. Music will be by Barb McDermott and the Holy Spirit Choir. Lectors will be Connie Hall and Sandy Williams. Gift Bearers will be Katelyn Hardy, Ava Hardy, Jacob Kaiser, and Catherine Cave. Casket Bearers will be Chris Hardy, Steve Kaiser, Gary Cave, Christian Cave, Ben Kaiser, and David Schlichte. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 4 p.m. on Monday, where there will be a Rosary prayed at 5 p.m., and a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Church on Tuesday morning where visitation will resume at 9:30 a.m., and continue until the time of the funeral mass. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Darlene’s family for a later memorial designation. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll, and online condolences may be left for Darlene’s family at www.sharpfuneral.com. Darlene was born on February 12, 1946 in Breda, Iowa the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Irlbeck) Mueggenberg. She attended St. Bernard Catholic High School, and graduated in 1964. She married LeRoy Brincks on July 16, 1966 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breda, Iowa. Together, they resided on the Brincks family farm, south of Denison, Iowa. She helped manage the family farm, shoe store, and local restaurants. Upon her retirement, they moved to Carroll, Iowa. Darlene enjoyed reading, bingo, traveling, and shopping. Most of all Darlene enjoyed the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Darlene was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. Darlene and LeRoy were married for 51 years. Their marriage was blessed with four daughters. She is survived by her husband LeRoy of Carroll; daughters: Deanna (Steven) Kaiser of Buffalo Grove, IL, Lisa (Gary) Cave of Ames, Laura Brincks of Ankeny, and Linda (Chris) Hardy of Kingwood, TX; six grandchildren: Benjamin Kaiser, Jacob Kaiser, Christian Cave, Catherine Cave, Katelyn Hardy, and Ava Hardy. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; Joe and Margaret Mueggenberg.
