Elizabeth Danner

Elizabeth Danner, 85 of Carroll, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll surrounded by her family. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m., Friday at St. Lawrence Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Schott. Music will be by Marcy Anderson, St. Lawrence Choir, Justin and Tyler Badding, Becky Windchitl and All Strings Attached. Mass Servers will be Chantal and Emily St. Peter. Lector for the funeral mass will be Bonnie Danner. Gift Bearers will be granddaughters: Katie Sell, Annie Bailey, Janie Peters, Jenny Inserra, and Lindsey Hladio. Eucharistic Ministers will be: Bonnie Danner, Ken Shibata and Shirley Molitor. Honorary Casket Bearers will be granddaughters: Katie Sell, Annie Bailey, Janie Peters, Jenny Inserra, Lindsey Hladio, Jaimie Danner, and Holly Danner. Casket Bearers will be grandsons: Rich Peters Jr., Michael Peters, Mike Feilmeier, Matt Feilmeier, Jon Feilmeier, Jamie Collison, Jason Danner, David Groeber Jr., Jacob Groeber, Matt Danner, Alex Gast and Zach Gast. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:30 p.m. Thursday where there will be a rosary at 4 p.m., and a Christian Wake Service by the parish at 6 p.m. The casket will be moved to St. Lawrence Church at noon on Friday where visitation will resume until time of the funeral mass. Memorials may be left at the funeral home or the church for the American Cancer Society or Pastoral Care Department at St. Anthony’s. Born on August 2, 1926 at Elgin, Nebraska, Elizabeth was the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth (Ganskow) Schieffer. She attended St. Francis Grade School in Maple River and later attended St. Angela’s Academy in Carroll. On July 7, 1945 she was married to Donald J. Danner at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Carroll by Fr. Lambert Schenkelberg. Don and Betty made their home in Carroll and she was a homemaker and a devoted mother raising their nine children. Throughout her lifetime she was active in bridge club, and also volunteered with the March of Dimes, American Cancer Society, and the American Heart Association. She enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas with her husband, singing, dancing, sewing, and walking her dog Buddy. She was formerly a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church where she was active with the Ladies Guild, and currently was a member of St. Lawrence Parish and Parish Ladies Guild. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Richard Danner of Houma, LA, Shirley Peters and her husband Dr. Richard of Carroll, Judy Feilmeier and her husband Keith of Omaha, NE, Jim Danner and his wife Rochelle of Beaverton, OR, Deb Collison and her husband James M. Sr. of Carroll, Carol Groeber and her husband Dave of Aurora, IL, Jayne Hladio and her husband Matthew of Milwaukee, WI, and Michelle Gast and her husband Scott of Cary, IL; 21 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Gail Danner of Ft. Collins, CO; her sister, Laura Humlicek of Carroll; her brother, Richard (Donna) Schieffer Jr. of Carroll; her sister-in-law, Bonnie Danner of Carroll; her brother-in-law, Kitch Semmens of Arizona; as well as other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald J. Danner in May 2005; her son, Donald J. Danner Jr; her daughter in infancy, Shirley; and her grandson, Jared Feilmeier.
