Gary Wiederin

Gary Wiederin, 65 of Lidderdale, died early Monday morning, August 8, 2016 at the Swan Place in Carroll. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lidderdale. The Celebrant will be Fr. Craig Collison. Mass servers will be: Ryan Scharfenkamp and Adam Scharfenkamp. Music will be by Deanna Daniel and the Holy Family Choir. Lectors for the funeral mass will be: Mariah Heisterkamp and Kim Roberts. Gift Bearers will be: Kelsie Reicks and Alexis Heisterkamp. Eucharistic Minister will be Ron “Woody” Beyer. Casket Bearers will be: Shawn Wiederin, Chad Wiederin, Curt Kirsch, Josh Wiederin, Jeff Wiederin, and Ron Stoffers Jr. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery near Lidderdale. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 5 p.m. on Thursday where there will be a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Born on July 11, 1951 at Carroll, Iowa, Gary was the son of Merle and Thelma (Huegerich) Wiederin. He attended school in Carroll and later graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School in 1969. Gary worked for Schleisman Ready Mix, Gute Tree Service and also owned his own gravel truck which he hauled gravel for various contractors. Later, Gary worked for Juergens with the hog confinements until his retirement. Gary enjoyed hunting, gardening, trips to the casino and driving around Lidderdale on his golf cart socializing. Gary was an avid Iowa Hawkeye Fan. Gary is survived by his siblings: Lou Ann Stoffers of Omaha, Robert (Mary) Wiederin of Carroll, Kathy Olson and fiancé Dick Greteman of Carroll, Lynn (Mary) Wiederin of Ralston, Lois (Ron “Woody”) Beyer of Carroll, LaVonne (Rick) Richardson of Zapata, TX and Mike Wiederin of Lidderdale; his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Sharon Wiederin of Arcadia, Karlynn Wiederin of Ralston, and Jerome Kirsch of Carroll; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other extended relatives and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his fiancé Monica Kollan; his parents; his sister, Shirley Kirsch; his brothers: Steve, LaVerne, and Larry Wiederin; and his brother-in-law, Ron Stoffers.
