Ida Pudenz

Ida Pudenz, 75 of Lake View, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Banner Gateway Medical Center in Gilbert, Arizona. A memorial mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Mt. Carmel. The Celebrant will be Fr. Gary Snyder. Music will be by Ann Pottebaum and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Choir. Lectors will be Carrie Hanson, Liz Morton and Annie Pudenz. Gift Bearers will be Carrie Hanson, Liz Morton, Annie Pudenz, Ainsley Pudenz and Clara Hanson. Burial will be at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery immediately following the funeral mass. Ida’s family will greet friends and family one hour prior to mass time at the church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Sharp Funeral Home in Breda. Born on December 24, 1937 in Dunlap, Iowa, Ida was the daughter of Oscar E. and Agnes M. (Tripp) Davis. She spent her early childhood in the Dunlap and Dow City communities and graduated from Carroll High School where she met Denny. They were married June 8, 1957 eventually settling in Breda, Iowa to raise their family. Denny and Ida grew their business, Pudenz Truck Lines, and family together. Ida was always behind the scenes managing not only their business but raising their growing family. Ida cherished her big family and found great joy in not only being a wife and mother but a grandma and eventually a great grandma constantly spoiling and relishing in the latest achievements, antics and other life events. Her home was filled with photos and albums she loved to look through. Ida loved playing cards whether it was a card game with friends in her younger years or later Go Fish with a grandchild she enjoyed the time. Another passion of hers were her gardens, she took great pride in getting them set just right each year and spent many hours tenderly caring for them. She leaves her sons; Phil Pudenz and his wife Linda of Sioux Falls, SD, Larry Pudenz of Gilbert, AZ, Duane Pudenz and his wife Janet of Apple Valley, MN, Jeremy Pudenz and his wife Noel of Gilbert, AZ, her daughter Denise Corathers and her husband Greg of Mesa, AZ, her grandchildren; Dr. Carrie Hanson and her husband Chris of Sioux Falls, SD, Liz Morton of Gilbert, AZ, Jordan Hofmann of Apache Junction, AZ, Dr. Michael Pudenz of Madison, WI, Annie Pudenz of Chicago, IL, Jacob Pudenz, Zachary Pudenz of Apple Valley, MN, Ainsley Pudenz, Nathan Pudenz of Gilbert Arizona, her great granddaughter Clara Hanson of Sioux Falls, SD, her sister; Joan Jenkins of Forsyth, Missouri, her sister-in-law Betty Davis of Forsyth, Missouri, a special aunt Susie Broich of Carroll, IA, as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Denny Pudenz, her sisters; Ruth Racobs, Bertha Firnhaber, Leota Crabb, and June Davis, her brothers; Dennie Davis and George Davis.
