Judy Masching

JUDITH FRANCES (PUDENZ) MASCHING, age 78, of Worthington, MN died Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at the Sanford Worthington Medical Center. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday, August 31 at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. Visitation also from 2-4 pm Friday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll, IA. Funeral Mass will be 9 am Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Worthington, officiated by Fr. Miguel-Parochial Vicar & Deacon Vern Behrends. Burial will be 4:15 pm Friday at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll, IA She was born August 7, 1945, in Carroll, IA, to Norbert and Elenora (Balk) Pudenz. Judy was raised on a farm in Carroll County, IA. She was Baptized, made her First Communion and was Confirmed at Our Lady of Mount Carmel. She attended Kuemper Catholic High School in Carroll, IA, graduating in 1963. Judy attended and graduated from lowa Beauty School in Des Moines, IA. She worked as a beautician at Auburn, Scranton, and Carroll, IA. Marvin and Judy were united in marriage on August 22, 1964. The couple had five children, all born in Carroll, IA, while they lived in Scranton, IA. The children are, Terrence, Patrick, Debra, Kim, and Craig. Judy enjoyed time at home raising five kids and cooking, cleaning, and providing guidance. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Worthington, Faith Formation Teacher, Catholic Daughters, the Worthington Elks and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed playing cards and games with the kids and grandkids. She made many great meals and goodies. Judy was talented and enjoyed quilting and sewing. Marvin and Judy lived and enjoyed time with their family in Scranton, IA; Halbur, IA; Hanlontown, IA; and Worthington, MN. Judy and Marvin have lived in Worthington for the past twenty nine years. Judy is survived by her husband, Marvin Masching, Worthington, MN; five children, Terrence (Pam) Masching, Lawton, IA; Patrick (Rachel) Masching, Cookeville, TN; Debra Lee, Robins, IA; Kim (Bruce) Rupp, Bloomington, MN; and Craig (Jill) Masching, Sioux Falls, SD; sixteen grandchildren, Mackenzie (Taylor) Riley, Mitchel Masching, Aaron Kirby, Cody (Bella) Masching, Heidi Masching (Special Partner Breanne), Hayley Masching, Brady Schnelten, Haley Schnelten, Kolby Schnelten, Christian Lee, Caitin Lee, Jessica Rupp, Nicholas (Katie) Rupp, Alysia (Jordan) Swanson, Ethan Masching and Tyler Masching; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Riley and Leo Swanson; brothers, Lester (Barb) Pudenz; and Roger Pudenz; sister, Marilyn (Don) Wenck; sisters-in-laws, Dorothy Pudenz, Julie Schmitz, and Ruthie Masching. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eugene Pudenz and Merle (Jean) Pudenz; and three infant brothers, Fred & Mary Masching, Irene Masching, Alice (Joe) Stitz, Marion (Albert) Berning, Viola (Simon) Langel, Leon (Dorothy) Masching, Alver Schmitz, Helen (Marvin) Stevens, and Alvin Masching.
