Kathy Ewing

Kathy Ewing, age 55 of Carroll, died Saturday evening, July 7, 2012, at the Carroll Health Center Nursing Home in Carroll. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Officiating will be Evangelist Scott Weber of Faith Fellowship Church. Casket Bearers will be Larry Becke, Rob Becke, Bob Boger, Mike Bennett, Mike Heithoff, Nick Heithoff, Doug Heithoff, and Kurt Irlmeier. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Dedham. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 5 P.M. Tuesday where there will be a Prayer Service at 7 P.M. Tuesday. Kathy was born on November 11, 1956, at Lake City, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence L. and Billie Darlyne (Walker) Ewing. She spent most of her lifetime in the Lake City community and graduated from Lake City High School with the Class of 1975 and then attended Iowa Central Community College for one year. She was employed at the General Electric Plant in Carroll and then was employed as a cook at the Shady Oaks Nursing Home in Lake City. Kathy moved to Carroll in 2000 and was employed by the Carroll Theater until her retirement due to ill health. She was a member of Faith Fellowship Church and was an avid supporter of the Relay for Life. Kathy enjoyed her family, cooking, camping, watching movies, quilting, playing bingo, Nintendo wii bowling, and playing cards. Kathy is survived by her significant other, Keith Heithoff of Carroll; her daughter, Kyra Heithoff at home; a step son, Tim Heithoff of Carroll; a step daughter, Ivy (Dylan) Wruck of Des Moines; three grandchildren, Joewie Heithoff, Tanner Heithoff, and Cade Wruck; two sisters, Mary Becke of West Des Moines and Carol (Richard) Boger of Ankeny; two brothers, David Ewing of Lake City and Jim Ewing of Lake City; and by her extended family, Mildred Heithoff of Templeton, Larry and Anne Heithoff of Templeton, Kenny Heithoff and Sally Blazek of Coon Rapids, Diane and Dave Bancroft of Kansas City, Missouri, Tom and Betty Klocke of Coon Rapids, Marilyn and Gary Dickes of Kenosha, Wisc., and Michelle Short and John Hutchcroft of West Des Moines; and by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother-in-law, Les Becke; and by Virgil Heithoff.
