Kyle Pudenz

Kyle Pudenz, 19 of Carroll, died Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa from injuries received in an accident. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2012 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Schott assisted by Deacon Timothy Murphy. Con-Celebrants will be: Fr. Richard Remmes, Fr. Timothy Johnson, Fr. Lynn Bruch, Fr. Steven Broderson, and Fr. Ed Tiedeman. Pianist for the funeral mass will be Marcy Anderson. Song Leader will be Jake Gute. Lector will be Barb Hoffman. Gift Bearers will be Kyle’s uncle, Chris Pudenz and his wife Sarah, and their children Trevor and Morgan. Honorary Casket Bearers will be: Zach Irlbeck, Ross Klocke, Matt Berg, Bryce Berg, Taylor Pudenz, Shane Sapp, Josh Axman, Jacob Buelt, Kirby Gunnerson, Andrew Schleisman, Mitchell Borkowski, Nolan Cone, and Eric Pope. Casket Bearers will be: Jeff Sanders, Joe Daniel, Craig Schleisman, Dave Borkowski, Jim Brown, Darrell Eischeid, Jay Baumhover, and Tracy Onken. Members of the Kuemper Knights Baseball Team and the Carroll Merchant’s Baseball Team will form an honor guard for the funeral mass. Burial will be at Holy Family Cemetery in Lidderdale. Visitation will be at the Holy Spirit Church after 4 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012 where there will be a Christian Wake Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at Holy Spirit Church at 9 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2012 until time of the funeral mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left at the church for the Kuemper Catholic Schools Foundation. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for Kyle’s family at www.sharpfuneral.com. Born on January 2, 1993 at Carroll, Iowa, Kyle Nicholas Pudenz was the son of Brad and Michele (Halbur) Pudenz. He grew up in the Carroll area and attended Christ the King Grade School in Mt. Carmel. Kyle later attended Kuemper Catholic Schools and graduated with the Class of 2011. While at Kuemper he was active in track and baseball, participating in State Track Meets and two State Baseball Tournament Teams. Kyle was also a member of the Carroll Merchant’s Baseball Team that finished first in the 2011 State Tournament and runner-up at the National Tournament. He enjoyed playing all intramural sports and fishing. He loved hanging out and spending time with his family and many friends. Kyle was attending Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lidderdale. Kyle will be sadly missed and will always be remembered for his kind hearted, easy going, unselfish character, always thinking of others before himself. Kyle is survived by his parents, Brad and Michele Pudenz of Carroll; his sister, Elizabeth Pudenz and her friend Ben McAnany of Omaha, NE.; grandparents: Eugene and Dorothy Pudenz of Carroll; Gary and Jolene Halbur of Roselle; great-grandmother, Helen Halbur of Carroll; Aunt and Uncles: Joy Pudenz of Omaha, NE.; Doug Halbur of Carroll; Brian Pudenz, Kyle Pollard and son Kellan, of Dallas, TX.; Scott Pudenz, of London, England; Chris Pudenz, Sarah Bruck Pudenz and their children, Trevor and Morgan of Minneapolis, MN.; and many friends.
