Lora Fritz

In loving memory of Lora (Knight) Fritz, 56 of Carroll, who passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. A celebration of life will be on Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 1:00-4:00pm at Graham Park Shelter House, Carroll, Iowa. Burial will be Monday, August 10, 2026, at 9:00am at Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery, Glidden, Iowa Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for Lora’s family at www.sharpfuneral.com. Born on July 12, 1969 in Carroll, Iowa, Lora was the daughter of Doil and Jeannette Knight. She attended St. Lawrence, graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School with the class of 1987, and took classes at DMACC. Lora enjoyed working for Koster Grain, J&R Trucking, American Home Shield and McFarland Clinic before retiring. Lora shared a deep, loving relationship with her fiancé Mike Renze, who tragically passed away in a farming/traffic accident just prior to their wedding. She married Alan Fritz and had the joy of adopting two children, Maliki Fritz and Blake Widner. Lora was a remarkable woman whose kindness, compassion, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a devoted mother who cherished her children above all else, a beloved daughter whose caring spirit brought joy to her family, and a treasured sister whose loyalty and friendship were gifts beyond measure. Her warmth, strength, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Lora loved her family, dogs, all things Disney, sunflowers, and collecting unique items from the places she visited. She was an avid supporter of the US Military as her son navigated his journey in the National Guard. Left to celebrate Lora’s life are her son Maliki Fritz, daughter Blake Widner and mother Jeannette Knight. Brothers Jim Knight, of Newport News, Virginia, Ken (Connie) Knight of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Paul (Laura) Knight of Carroll, Iowa, Tom (Brandi) Knight of Morgantown, Pennsylvania, Jerome (JaDee) Knight, Des Moines, Iowa. Sisters Ann (Randy) Mantz, Carroll, Iowa, Cathy Knight, Smithville, Missouri, Nancy (Jamie) Dietrich, Hornick, Iowa, Karen (Jeff) Sparks, Glidden, Iowa. Sister-in-law, Pam Knight, Pine Level, North Carolina, and countless nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Francis & Lillian Schoeppner and Lynn & Gladys Knight, father Doil, brother Alan Knight, sister-in-law Sue Knight, fiancé Mike Renze, nephews JR Knight and Mox Vonnahme. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Meredith Dryden, McFarland Clinic, and other facilities for their exceptional kindness, support and compassionate care shown to Lora throughout her life. Lora will live on in our hearts forever.
