Luann M. Riesberg

Luann Riesberg, age 58, of Carroll, died Sunday, December 6, 2015 at the Hawkeye Care Center in Carroll, Iowa. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. The Celebrant will be Fr. Timothy Johnson. Music will be by Barb McDermott and the Holy Spirit Choir. Mass Servers will be Evan Brincks, and Joseph Riesberg. Lector will be Teresa Lange. Gift Bearers will be Madeline Riesberg, and Megan Riesberg. Eucharistic Ministers will be Robert and Irene Schroeder, and Christie Sundrup. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Gina Sundermann, Sarah Goslar, MaKayla Riesberg, and Rachel Sporrer. Casket Bearers will be Nick Riesberg, Harry Riesberg, Craig Riesberg, Kyle Riesberg, Jake Riesberg, Matt Sporrer, and Nathan Sporrer. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll, at a later date. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll, after 5 p.m. on Wednesday, where there will be a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 p.m. The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Church at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, where visitation will resume until the time of the funeral mass. Born on February 28, 1957 at Carroll, Iowa, Luann was the daughter of Lavern and Stella (Riesenberg) Riesberg. In her younger years Luann grew up near Roselle, until 1971 when the family moved to the Carroll community. In 1975 Luann graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School. After high school Luann worked at General Electric, Hy-Vee, and New Hope Village in Carroll. She enjoyed cross-stitch, cooking, and her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Luann was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. Left to celebrate Luann’s life are her siblings: Jim (Donna) Riesberg of Roselle, Harry (Jeannette) Riesberg of Castana, Jean (Gary) Brincks of Carroll, Lois (Kevin) Sporrer of Roselle, and John (Jackie) Riesberg of La Vista, NE; also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives. Luann was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Julie Riesberg, and two nephews: Michael Sporrer, and Tyler Riesberg.
