Teresa M. Renze

Teresa Renze, 84 of Roselle, died early Tuesday morning, June 28, 2016 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Roselle. The Celebrant will be Fr. Steven Brodersen, assisted by Deacon Tom Renze. Con-Celebrant and Homilist will be Fr. Allan Reicks. Mass servers will be Lauryn Renze and Alexia Renze. Music will be by Diane Mahoney and the Holy Angels Choir. Soloist will be Katelyn Renze. Cantor for the funeral mass will be Dawn Sibbel. Lectors for the funeral mass will be Ron and Janella Reicks. Gift Bearers will be: Andrea Sexton, Dominic Sexton, Hailey Sibbel and Daniel Sibbel. Eucharistic Minister will be Glenn Sibbel. Casket Bearers will be: Paul Sibbel, Eric Renze, Dr. Christopher Renze, Nathan Boell, Chase Loneman, and Matthew Renze. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 4 p.m. on Friday where there will be a Christian Wake Service at 7 p.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for Teresa’s family at www.sharpfuneral.com. Born on February 14, 1932 at Carroll, Iowa, Teresa Mae was the daughter of James A. and Frances L. (Koon) Vanderheiden. She attended Carroll Public Schools and later graduated from Carroll High School. Following her schooling, Teresa lived in Omaha for a short time before returning to the Carroll area. On April 21, 1951, Teresa was united in marriage to Cyril Renze at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. The couple made their home in Carroll for a brief time and later moved to the Renze Family Farm near Roselle. Teresa was a homemaker, and was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She was also instrumental and served in many capacities with the family business, Renze Hybrids. She was a friend to everyone and loved spending time with her many friends and her greatest joy, her family. Teresa was a member of Holy Angels Parish and Parish Altar Society. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Cyril Renze of Roselle; her children: Pam (Glenn) Sibbel of Ames, Jeff (Nancy) Renze of Carroll, Tim (Jane) Renze of Carroll, Cynthia (Bob) Loneman of Carroll, Royce (Michael) Renze of Des Moines, and Kristina (Chris) Boell of Carroll; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jim Vanderheiden of Auburn; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Adeline Reicks of Carroll, Vern Renze of Harlan, and Melvin (Mary Ann) Renze of Manning; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended relatives. Teresa was preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law, Joseph H. and Ellen Renze; her grandson Nick Renze; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Annette Vanderheiden, Kathleen Renze, Larry Reicks, Norbert W. Renze, Elmer and Lorine Renze, and Gilbert and Barbara Renze.
